LANDSCAPE INSTITUTE

The Landscape Institute is a place where the urban and natural landscapes are explored, their boundaries pushed and new disruptive installations conceived. Located on a popular street full of cafés in the West End of Glasgow, close to the large Kelvingrove park and right next to the river Kelvin, the Landscape Institute improves access between all the different environments and addresses the changes in levels by ‘meandering’ across the river, resulting in a series of experiences and defining several pockets of space along its way. A piece of infrastructure for the appretiation of landscape, it grows out of a new walkway along river Kelvin, becomes a bridge extention and then grows further to address the tenement buildings and offer views back to the landscape.
